AnavaraDoc and AnavaraPlus: Firm Inaugurates Apps to Connect Nigerian Doctors

A wellness firm, Anavara, has inaugurated two  free mobile apps — AnavaraDoc and  AnavaraPlus — to enable patients to find specialist doctors  in the country for diagnosis and surgical treatment  for congenital heart diseases, paediatric and cardiac issues.  

AnavaraDoc  is for doctors while  AnavaraPlus  is for patients.  

Speaking during the introduction of the apps in Abuja, the Principal Strategies Advisor, Anavara, Mr Ashok Laguduva, said the apps would help  patients  in the country.  

Laguduva said AnavaraDoc  had been inaugurated in Kano, adding that  AnavaraPlus  would be inaugurated in January 2020.  

He said, “A doctor was asking if patients would pay before seeing a doctor, we do have a payment gateway, but we are not inaugurating it because we want to get feedback from doctors first before integrating the payment. For now, it is free, anybody can set up an appointment with a doctor.”  

A cardiac surgeon, Dr Benedict Raj, said the apps would bring many Nigerian doctors to  the limelight.  

He   said  he had  conducted a Continuous Medical Education programme in Kano  attended by over 120 doctors, adding that the session in Abuja was attended by cardiologists and medical professionals from the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian  Army.   Raj said  the next CME would hold in Lagos, adding  that the training was meant to empower doctors to provide quality services at low costs.  

The paediatric surgeon said, “The CME is also meant to introduce the apps to  Nigerian   doctors because the apps  are  meant to bring  them  to the limelight.   “Anavara plans to create a platform  to bring the right doctor and the patient together.”  

He also  said the  apps would improve the quality of  Nigerian doctors.
