Foundation Embarks On 5-Day Deworming Programme of Children In Northern Nigeria
Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje will flag off the deworming of children in northern Nigeria by Bako Kontagora Development Foundation on March 19 in Kano.
The deworming exercise which will take place in four States is spread across Adamawa, Yobe, Borno and Kano. Governor Ganduje is expected to kick start the five days exercise in Kano on March 19, at Garun Mallam.

Other local councils, the team will carry out the exercise include Kumbotso and Ungogo in the central senatorial district, Bebeji and Garun Mallam in Kano South senatorial district and Shanono and Bagwai in the northern senatorial district while the Mariri Orphanage Boarding Primary School is not left out.
The Chief Operating Officer of Bako Kontagora Development Foundation, Hauwa Bako Mohammed,said the deworming exercise will be carried out with the cooperation of the State Government, through its various agencies, the ministries of Local Government Affairs,, Education and Education.
Mohammed said the Foundation also intend to deworm displaced children in Adamawa, Yobe and Borno States with the Kano exercise been the first phase. She added that the Presidential Committee Initiative for North East has also given the foundation the needed support to make it a huge success.
According to her, BKDF was part of the Match4IDPs organised in Kano on December 14 as implementing NGO, adding that the target of the body is to achieve food security, improve nutrition and sustainable agriculture.
” Our foundation is into Sustainable Development Goal 2 and our implementation efforts are targeted at remote areas, humanitarian agencies cannot reach thereby complementing their efforts and achieving our objectives.
“Our intervention methodology is intended to create an atmosphere of inclusion, hope and love for the displaced and survivors of conflicts,” Mohammed said.
