GSPHDA Trains 42 Health Workers On Financial Management
Gombe State Primary Health Care Development Agency (GSPHDA) on Thursday commenced a three day training Programme for 42 health personnel on Financial Management in Kaltungo Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Executive Secretary, Of the agency , Dr. Ahmed Gana said the aim of the training is to equip the participant on financial management and procurement processes.
He said, the 42 participant were selected from the 21 Primary Health Care Facilities In Gombe Local Government Area of the state. Represented by Mrs.
Comfort Ndus, Primary Health Care Coordinator of Gombe LGA, Gana said the programme which was recently introduced is being financed by World Bank, to equip the facilities managers with the knowledge on how to handle their financial inflow and outflow and Gombe was selected for the pilot project.
While expressing gratitude to the state government for piloting the programme, she also call on the state government to ensure the speedy coverage of the Programme to the remaining 10 LGAs in the state, noting that it will help impact positively on the facilities Managers.
She disclosed that prior to the training, all the facilities managers have little or no knowledge of keeping records of finances in their respective health centers.
Hajiya Maryam Guruzu, one of the participants from PHC Madaki, said the training will assist her on how to spend the resources given to her judiciously to facilitate the affairs of her facility.
