JOHESUStrike2018 Update From The Lagos Chapter on Ongoing Strike
UPDATE ON THE CONGRESS HELD TODAY AT NANNM HOUSE, AMARAOLU…
The meeting was coordinated by JOHESU NATIONAL representative in person on Mr. Olatunde (RN, UCH) with Lagos JOHESU EXCO’s on the high table. The State JOHESU apologized for not properly managing the situation in Lagos state and going against the congress decision in LASUTH last week.
Challenges facing Nurses in Lagos State were identified and the way forward suggested with the following decisions and demands were made:
1- A hand of fellowship was offered to Lagos state government by way of putting forward skeletal services and they have misused the opportunity by threatening our members and forcing them to open up all departments of the hospital and bringing in CHEWs to man said facilities
2- Lagos state government should commence immediate implementation of the circulars released to us.
3- The remaining 2 circulars on autonomy of profession and upward review of call and shift duty allowance.
4- HSC should write supplementary budget immediately to pay nurses uniform allowance for 2018.
5- Immediate withdrawal of queries given to our members during this strike by MDs and CMDs
6- Immediate withdrawal of CHEWs from our secondary and tertiary institutions.
7- Original minute of the meeting held with commissioner for health Lagos state should be released immediately.
Demand:
– We are giving Lagos state government till Thursday (24th May, 2018) to do all these or we withdraw all our services in Lagos state.
-If all these are done, we will now come back to REDEFINE OUR SKELETAL SERVICE WELL.
Failure to do it, we are going back on 100% strike from Friday morning. A communique will be issued to the government on our resolutions
