Kebbi State Government @KBStGovt: Withdrawal Of Nursing School Accreditation Has Been Sorted Out
The Kebbi State Government on its twitter handle @KBStGovt yesterday at 2.21pm replied on our Social Media handle concerning our post “School Of Nursing Birnin-Kebbi Accreditation Gets Withdrawn By The NMCN” dated 25th of December 2017.
Our publicaation had read:
The Board of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria had, at its 42nd General Meeting, withdrew the accreditation status of your School and placed embargo on students’ intake with immediate effect.
The action is in line with section 14, subsection 2 of the Nursing and Midwife, Council Act 2004 for your inability to re-apply for accreditation which is due for the last three (3) years in spite of several directives from the Council.
In addition. you are expected to update the payment of your accreditation fees from the time your status expired in order to maintain regulatory activities such as indexing, examination etc
Please note that by this, your School cannot admit students for 2017/2018 academic session.
Thank you for your cooperation in promoting and maintaining excellence In Nursing Education and Practice in Nigeria.
In its prompt reply the Kebbi State Government said that this incicent was part of an in its words “Unfortunate Incident” and that this had been “Sorted Out”, while also appologizing for this occuring and promising that studies for its students would continue as normal.
