Men in Nursing Assembly of Nigeria Compliment Message
Complements of the Season dear colleagues and a very happy and fruitful New Year!!!
The most beautiful things about new year is the ambience of a “mental reset”. A resurgence of great hope against all odds. The vigour of a second chance and vitality of starting afresh. That sense of ” the old is past and the new is here”. But, that is all there is, FEELINGS!
My greatest “change” quotes of all time is from Andy Warhol (an America visual art genius):
“They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.”
What that simply means is that in reality (true time), nothing changes automatically just because its first of January. However, why this period hold great uniqueness is because of the mental reset and renewed hope. That could be a great transformational asset if deployed full blast.
On behalf of the steering committee, I welcome you officially to the MEN IN NURSING ASSEMBLY OF NIGERIA (MNAN) broadway, where we desire to mainstream a non-gender characteristically masculine mentality (in an african context) of resilience, relevance and responsibility to community, to ensure: promotion, prevention, restoration and rehabilitation of health for life and wellbeing, and even to peaceful death.
In detail, when we talk about men, its symbolic of headship, agility, force, resilience and strength. It is more of a mindset we seek to propagate than a gender role or male mainstreaming or segregation.
The MEN IN NURSING ASSEMBLY OF NIGERIA, works to primarily break the negative stereotyping of male nurses in particular and nurses in general, increase male enrollment into the profession, enlighten on current health reform trends, broaden career possibilities, increase satisfaction & productivity, and enhance clinical practice and need-oriented professional socialization.
MNAN represent hope and a critical complementary mass of the entire profession. And though our platform may be through the “Men in Nursing ideology,” we think, speak, act and plan for mainly the professional development and opportunities of all in the nursing profession. That is why they are females who are members of the “Men in Nursing Assembly of Nigeria (MNAN)”.
As Mother Teresa will say, “Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
In 2018, there is a Call to Action to give a new lease of commitment and dedication to improve quality of care for the betterment of our PATIENTS, progress of Nursing & development of our Nation.
IN 2018, WE BEGIN!!!
God bless MNAN,
God bless Nursing, &
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
