NANNM President Response to Olu Ajayi Piece on CHEW and Nurses in Nigeria
We have allowed many things to go unchallenged. We are up-to the task and must not allow such harrant nonsense to be used to rubbish us. It a lizard pronounce it self crocodile π, the reptile will not allow it to go u addressed. Olu Ajayi should not be spared at all, otherwise many will come up.
he might be sponsored or be instigated, but both himself and his mentor(s) should be told in clear terms.
Before you realize it, they will be using his idea to confront Nurses, don’t forget some of the things he mentioned here in have been advanced in some Local Government Service Commission where Nurses are employee, when the issue of appointments of focal persons, appointment of Loca Immunization Officer, appointment of Acting Primary Health Care coordinators and even head of unit came up at various times. So as it occurred, give it attention and address it promptly, holistically and without reservation. Business of today don’t leave it till tomorrow, and we should be able to do many things at once without one been an obstacle to the other. This a test of a front line professional of repute.
In Edo state the CHEW claimed that as practitioners, it means they are professionals and since they are licensed to practice they should be placed over the nurses, and that they are the owners of Primary Health Care, if it was not addressed promptly, they would have done irreparable and irreplaceable destruction.
Thanks and good morning
Comrade Nurse Abdrafiu Alani Adeniji
NANNM President
