The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi is located along the ever busy motorway (Ikorodu Road) in Lagos. The institution started as a Military Rehabilitation Camp for prisoners of war returning from 2nd World War. After recognition by the Colonial Medical Services in 1945, it became a Medical establishment known as Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital. In name, the hospital has undergone a metamorphosis from Igbobi Hospital to royal Orthopaedic Hospital and now National Orthopaedic Hospital

Qualification
* Candidates must possess MBBS, Part II Final Examinations Certificate of the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African College of Surgeons or its equivalent in Orthopaedic Surgery.
* Candidates must also possess the NYSC Discharge Certificate and Current Practicing Licence.
* In addition, candidates must have two (2) months post-fellowship experience in Spine Surgery and a minimum of two (2) recognized relevant courses. * Candidates must also be a member of relevant Associations and must have been practicing in a recognized institution.
* Candidates for clinical posts must have Current Practicing License.
Condition Of Service
* The conditions of service including the fringe benefits are as applicable in the Federal Public Service.
