The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria wishes to express profound gratitude and appreciation of the Vice Chancellors in all Nigeria Universities offering BNSc programme for their efforts and support towards ensuring qualitative Nursing Education in Nigeria. The Council commends all Universities (Department of Nursing) who has already signed this Memorandum of Understanding.
National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) is one of the universities that run Open Distance Learning in Nigeria. Its Department of Nursing has been accredited by both Nigeria Universities Commission and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
In States where NOUN exists the Council is requesting that the Department of Nursing should please sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Department of Nursing from NOUN in order to enable their students’ to use their sister facilities from your University such as Skill Laboratory etc. as the need arises in order to ensure standard and qualitative training of these students is achieved at their end of their studies. However, it may include paying some amount for the consumables and facilities as your institution may deem necessary.
Thank you for your support in promoting and maintaining excellence in Nursing education and practice in Nigeria.
Signed
Alh. Faruk Umar Abubakar
Secretary General/ Registrar.
