Nurses for Ireland Without IELTS: New NMBI OET Requirements for Overseas Nurses 2018
NMBI OET Requirements for Overseas Nurses 2018
The Irish Ireland Nursing registration board has announced that effective from January 2, 2018 it will start accepting OET as alternative to IELTS for foreign trained Nurses who wants to register with the board. Below is the announcement made on it website and I believe this is an opportunity for all overseas nurses to come to Ireland as OET is easier to pass though more expensive.
As part of the application process for our Non-EU applicants, evidence of English language competence is required to the NMBI approved standard. Currently the NMBI accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and we are pleased to announce that from 2nd January 2018 we will also be accepting the Occupational English Language Test (OET) as an alternative to the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
NMBI will accept the following scores on the OET from 2 January 2018 as part of the application process for Non-EU applicants ONLY:
- At least a Grade C+ in Listening and Reading
- At least a Grade B in Writing and Speaking
