Open Letter To The Nursing And Midwifery Council Of Nigeria On Release Of Council Results
Good Afternoon,
As a student nurse I recently sat for the Council Exams in may and i was so estatic when the news was posted that the results had been released and principals advised to check thier mails for their schools results.
This is where a whole lot of us have problems with some of our principals
The issue of the Nursing Council releasing results into school principal’s mail is really affecting us in the sense that some principals would deliberately not check their mails for a long while even after being told that the results have been released with various reasons given for not doing so from lost passwords to not being on seat, down to some times due to some personal issues with their students and some others would end up checking and decide not to say anything to their students.
As I write this, my colleagues and I at our school have still not been able to know our stutus in terms of our results because our principal has deemed it necessary to not give us any update. She categorically stated that though she has every detail needed, she still wouldnt check and even if she did check that she wouldnt still let us to know anyways.
I know and applaud the Nursing Council led by Ahj Faruk Abubakar for the strides they have made and all the positive changes brought to the council.
But in my personal opinion, maybe the council should try and change their system and let individual students be able to access their result for themselves.
Please this is to all our leaders at the nursing council if its not possible for us students to check our results ourselves, then help us beg our principals to review and release our results.
Thank you.
