Pediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN) Partners Federal Ministry of Health
The Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has said that adequate attention to children’s’ health through the provision of proper nutrition would automatically improve the health indices of Nigeria.
The Minister who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Clement Uwaifo stated this yesterday when officials of the Pediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN) led by their President, Dr. Ngozi Ibezioko paid him a courtesy call, in Abuja. Adewole explained that the Federal Government is working hard with various stakeholders to ensure that Nigeria becomes a Polio free country.
He urged the Association to partner with Ministry of Health in the fight against polio and other communicable diseases in Nigeria.
“I look forward to a Polio-free Africa, where insecurity can no longer tamper with the health of our children” Adewole said
In her remarks, Dr. Ibeziokor said that their visit was a follow up on a letter written to the Hon. Minister by the Association requesting him to be a guest of honor at the forthcoming 14thTriennial Congress of Union of National African Pediatric Societies and Association (UNAPSA) and the 49th Pediatric Association of Nigeria (PAN) Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference scheduled to hold in Abuja, on 25th January, 2018.
She said the conference would focus more on child health which includes strengthening of routine immunization and other innovations that reduces child mortality.
Dr. Ibeziokor also solicited for support from the Federal Ministry of Health towards the success of the proposed Programmes.
