Study: Nurses Among Those Least Likely To Contemplate A Career Change
Nurses seldom consider switching careers, according to a new analysis from Indeed.
For the analysis, Indeed examined resume data for thousands of individuals to assess how often people click on job postings outside of their existing job title, referred to as career-switch search rate. Researchers centered their analysis on the top 300 job titles for individuals with a bachelor’s degree or higher.
Nursing roles comprised five of the top 20 career titles with the lowest career-switch search rate. For example, only 19 percent of job posting clicks from nurse practitioners were for jobs outside of healthcare. When people in nursing roles did click on job postings for careers outside of healthcare delivery, most jobs were still healthcare-related, such as case manager, administrator or educator.
