UNILORIN Elects Medical Student As Its Student Union President
The University of Ilorin SUG has elected to office the first Medical student as Animashaun Oluseyi Emmanuel, as the new Student Union president in the 43-year-old existence of the prestigious institution.
Animashaun, a 500Level Medicine and Surgery student topped the list valiantly with over 5000 votes, giving him the unquestionable leverage to be elected as President.
The college of health sciences was agog a few days ago with joyous celebration and an indescribable feeling of pride due to the fact that the medical student folk have often felt to have been sidelined and marginalised in the central affairs of things.
Animashaun, who is inarguably an enviably intelligent, young, vibrant, well cultured, tactical, amiable, cerebral and a globally-oriented pragmatist was filled with much gratitude to God and man as he kept on hugging his way through the electric crowd that came to the University environ to congratulate him.
Truly, history was made and this writer is proud to have been an integral part of it.
