Virtual International Day of the Midwife 2018 Call for Abstract
Call for Abstracts
The Virtual International Day of the Midwife is an annual free 24-hour online conference celebrating midwifery and birth-related matters. This year the conference will be opened by Sarah Stewart, who started the VIDM ten years ago and Karen Guilliland, CEO of the NZ College of Midwives and closed by Franka Cadee, the new President of the International Confederation of Midwives.
May 5, 2018 marks our 10th conference and we are excited to continue discussing with you, the global midwifery community, the issues that concern midwifery and childbirth in the twenty first century. The world is struggling with over dominating medical professionals, increasingly scared women, resulting in often very medicalised childbirth with far reaching effects on women and their families. We need midwives to come together to share research, processes and practices, and promote minimal intervention appropriately.
Join us on May 5th 2018, International Day of the Midwife at our virtual conference.
