Operations at KMTC Nairobi campus go online
KMTC Nairobi campus has put its key operations online following the installation of an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP).
The system, installed in the beginning of the 2017/2018 financial year at the Headquarters and Nairobi Campus, is already bearing fruits as it has been praised for increased efficiency in fee collection in the campus.
The ERP system is business process management software that allows Kenya Medical Training College to use a system of integrated applications to manage the business and automate many office functions related to technology, services and human resources.
Nairobi campus Principal Mr. Matthew Kipturgo has hailed the system, saying it will revolutionize the way things are done in the campus. “The system will be instrumental in helping us meet our objectives,” Mr. Kipturgo added.
Long queues normally witnessed in the campus during reporting were conspicuously absent. This is due to measures taken prior to the students reporting back from holidays. All continuing students’ details were provided by HODs and uploaded to the student management module in readiness for their reporting.
In addition all accommodation vacancies were captured in accommodation module prior to students’ reporting date. This has not only seen increased efficiency and transparency but has also shortened the time it now takes to assign accommodation to students.
Training has been conducted for staff in the finance and accommodation departments. Heads of departments and their secretaries have also undergone training to familiarize themselves with the system. Further, September 2017 intake class coordinators have also been taken through the training.
