Ogun Public Hospitals Restore Full Services as Health Workers Resume Duty
Full healthcare service has returned to public hospitals in Ogun State following the resumption of duty by health workers after six weeks nationwide strike.
The health workers include nurses, midwives, pharmacists, laboratory scientists, Physiotherapists and other health professionals.
They were seen on Monday attending to patients in all departments of public hospitals including Federal Medical Centre, Idi Aba, the State Hospital, Ijaye, Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, all in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The six weeks strike, which crippled healthcare services at the public hospitals nationwide, was suspended last Thursday by the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) which coordinated it.
The patients, who heaved a sigh of relief at the end of the strike, appealed to the government to find a solution to the endless strike in the public health sector.
