Osogbo Central Hospital An NHIS Accredited Hospitals Trains Auxiliary Nurses As Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Looks Away
Have you been to Osogbo Central Hospital in the very far end of the town, located at Oke Baale,Osogbo,Osun State, have you seen how they glory in the training of quacks, been an hospital with group of Specialists, they even offer services ranging from hand therapy to Cold laser therapy.
I got attracted to the sight of this hospital when I saw a junior colleague of mine in secondary school putting on their designated apparel;a sky blue scrub laced with navy blue, I knew that girl to be a food vendor,so I marvelled at how she has gone to school of Nursing so fast,it looks so real with her ID card hung on her neck.
A Facebook friend of mine shared a picture of a lady who captioned “I have been in the theatre about a thousand times”.I immediately rushed to her profile, but no history of a school of Nursing or University Nursing education.
I tell you! Their apparel is better than most University Nursing Student’s,they rush outside the Hospital premises whenever there is a casualty, with their gloves on and depict as it is done in a typical Nigeria movie.
Why would a hospital full of specialist, even NHIS accredited decide to train Quacks, why on earth? The very implication this is having is the image of real Nurses, this quacks would have hanled procedures that doesn’t even concern Nurses in their hospital, the masses that have visited there will use that as a comparing yardstick when they get to a government hospital.
If a male patient who is admitted on account of pneumonia, he is ambulating and not dependent, such patient will still demand that Female Nurses feed them in Government hospital, their mentality has been stationed to an abnormal and irrelevant Nursing care they received from the above mentioned hospital.
For how long will patients keep telling our Nurses about how they should go and see their mates somewhere else doing better, washing surgical boots, washing oga’s motor and the likes. This act is generally sending the interest of male in the profession into deep Oblivion.
The motto of Osogbo Central Hospital is
“Saving life first with the notion that all lives are sacred”
Are lives sacred in the hands of quacks?
What exactly has the Nursing profession done wrong?
Why didn’t they sow an overall coat for them and tagged them Doctors on training, it would he sweet.
NMCN should look into matters like this other than charging exorbitant fees for licenses.
N:B A reminder to all,No sane Nurse should still brag around with the diploma certificate (RN),the Bnsc is fast becoming an indigenous certificate, Nurses should level up and see chances in areas like politics, leadership and Advocacy.
Long live Nursing Profession
