Re: Banning of Online Nursing Programs in Nigeria by Prince Aremu Okikiola
Sequel to the recent circular released by the NMCN dated *(JANUARY 26, 2018)*saying they *did not recognize any online nursing training from any institution within or outside Nigeria*
Let me clearly state it that the circular is not properly expressed, and makes the whole situation confusing.
For clarity sake, NOUN BNSC has been approved by same NMCN in their circular dated *(August 3rd, 2017)* and NOUN BNSC gained full accreditation from National Universities Commission.
It will be noted that recently some dubious fellow who are always at the verge of bringing down the profession has increased their activities by starting the training of quacks *”popularly called auxiliary”* their mode of training has been on whatsapp groups , Facebook groups and other online mode. Likewise some acclaimed and unaccredited institutions banned from Republic Of Benin migrated to Lagos Nigeria towards the end of last year ( 2017) commencing online distance training of CHEW, NURSING AND OTHER HEALTH RELATED COURSES.
NMCN has got the notification of those activities and the circular has been the response.
It will also be noted that a complain was made two weeks ago by a graduand of one of the school of nursing on the extortion by their institution on registration and licensing in the name of NMCN, and NMCN responded with a circular last week.
OAUDL, LAUTECH, NOUN BNSC, Kindly relax and face your studies, nursing shall be grate and sky is our starting point.
