Medical Conference in UK: THET’s Annual Conference 2018
Dear all,
I hope you are well.
I am excited to write with news of THET’s 2018 Annual Conference!
This year sees us move to Imperial College London for two days of discussions, workshops and plenaries focusing on the move from competition to collaboration within global health. On Thursday 27th September and Friday 28th September we hope to bring together 600 delegates and over 60 speakers to explore how the UK can aid as well as learn from the growing Universal Health Care movement around the world.
As in past years, Day 1 (Thursday 27th September) will set the scene in current thinking on strengthened health partnerships and health system strengthening. We will do so by unpacking some of the complexities that impact on our efforts to work at a more systemic level, providing delegates with an unrivalled opportunity to understand their work in the context of shifting global health priorities.
Day 2 (Friday 28th September) will explore how health partnerships are made stronger through effective collaboration and reflect on the wider impact of their work in the global health space, focussing on key issues such as UHC and health systems strengthening, at a time when the DFID Health Partnership Scheme is coming to an end and we look to a successor programme.
For the third year running, we are delighted to invite health partnerships (institutions, organisations, private companies, within and across sectors) interested in sharing their evidence of success, challenges and lessons learnt under four key themes to submit abstracts to THET. https://www.thetconference.org/call-for-abstracts
Selected partners will be invited to present their findings in the form of oral presentations or poster displays at the conference. This is an opportunity to showcase their work to a wide audience of global health professionals across different sectors, including health service delivery, academia and research, professional bodies, companies and not for profits, and make meaningful connections for stronger collaboration.
For more information on the call and how to submit your abstract please click here. https://www.thetconference.org/call-for-abstracts
Abstracts must be submitted before midnight on the 13th May 2018 (GMT).
We are also really excited to present our THET Conference 2018 website [https://www.thetconference.org/], which will be regularly updated with speakers, programme content and exhibitor details. Tickets can be purchased by visiting the site [https://www.thetconference.org/buy-tickets] and we currently have our super early bird tickets on sale which will be available until 30th April, providing a great 20% saving on regular ticket prices! We also have our concessionary tickets on sale for health workers from LMICs as well as discounted student tickets.
We do hope you can join us there and that you are able to spread the word through your health partnership networks.
With best wishes,
Will Townsend
